I don't really understand what do you want, but maybe aplying a normalize spline(normalizes the distance between spline vertices) modifier to the spline will work

The only thing i can say is that i only meet a guy that *really* knows what maya is doing under that mess.

In xsi you can't edit an instance of an object because it's just a null that represents the position of the copied object.

If you are speaking of the same version of 3ds max. A good idea will be to merge the max scene that contains the model you need and select only the model for merging.

oh dont get me wrong, shortcuts are definately the way to go
but i sometimes am going inbetween zbrush and max at the same time, and well it gets messy hehe

Well it works fine if I scale the edges I'm extruding. And the first extrusion is perfect. It seems a little nonsensical, an effect without a cause.

Well the issue i'm sure isn't that rendering an 80k poly object slows the render down, its the dynamics calculations that are slowing it down id presume
