hey guys im an Avid softimage fan, pun intended, and the one thing i think ive always loved most about XSI is mental ray.
i found what i thought would be some awsome links on their site,
one catch though, these links are actually mailing lists that you have to sign up for, go to the first link to see how to access them.

PS....free scoobie snacks for life if anyone knows where to find a geometry shader that invokes a picking session in order to replicate instanced geometry! i actually think i have one, but it requires compiling into SPDL's etc.. something i really thought best not to get involved in. thanks
