Duke Nukem Foreever should come out this or next year.
After 10 years of production.
The game has been jokingly referred to in gaming circles as Duke Nukem Whatever, Duke Nukem If Ever, Duke Nukem Coming Out Never, Duke Nukem Taking Forever, Duke Nukem Never, Duke Nukem Fornever, Duke Nukem Forever Wait, Duke Nukem Forever in Development

Nah, it'll definitely come out.
Too much work to just let go.
It's definitely going well now. Things are together; we're in full production. We're basically just pulling all the pieces together and making the game out of it. There's a lot that's finished. All the guns are finished. Most of the creatures are finished. And as I said, we're just basically pulling it all together and trying to make it fun. We've kind of got all these disassociated elements that make up a game, and you put them together
See. Almost done.

Did u know they say they just finish modeling 20 weapons and all the creatures?
After what.. 7 YEARS?!
7 YEARS TO FINISH 20 weapons and creatures...
And they only started to finish the rest....I bet it will take another 3 years
LOL
Or project never come out, they just got their funding/last payment cut this year

A game does not only consist of 20 guns and creatures. :p
There has to be a story to follow and other stuff too. :p
Yeah, Shawn is right. Newer engines have been coming out and they need to update. :p

Last tiem they ran the latest UT engine and had switched the physics engine wich was apparently an easy task..
They'll prbably be switching to one of the newer engines now, or start over workign with UT2k7 engine Smile

Hah
No of course not, game doesn't consist of 20 guns and creatures
But it TAKES THEM THAT LONG to finish measly 20 guns and creatures
LOL
7 years
In fact
How long do u think it will take them to finish the rest of the game?
Btw, the also just finished 3 GAME LEVELS....
LOL

Duke Forever was announced in 1998

Shawn
They have allways claimed to have had a playable game, just not finished
Posted: June 08, 2006
Sid Conner
Always, yes
They could have made 3 games out of it
Posted: June 08, 2006
Shawn
They also arent' actively developing it as such
It's a side project, developed from their own pockets while they work on other hired projects

1st demo of Duke nukem was 1998/99
I saw the video of it
Looks pretty good at the time
It's comparable to half life 1
They could have finish it
And sell it

Then they bought the license for the indomitable MEQON physics engine..
But then Ageia bought Swedish MEQON
And 3dRealms had to do some things over again
At least I know they'll be using a kick ass physics engine :p

Shawn, about development form their own pockets - It's not true
They were funded
Take2 gave them 40 MILLIONS
To develop it
The last payment was this year
The publisher cut off the funding

Shawn
According to them they used to be unfunded though
And noone cares about DNF anymore.
All the peopel who would have bought DNF on launch day are old now and forgot about it, it's taken too long
