so, this is a project I just started its actually my first time 3D modeling so I need your advice 
its supposed to be a tank of some sort XD

Hi, nice first try.
Why do you use an stl format? Are you modeling this for 3d printing?
Also what 3d software do you use.
Here is how the file imported into blender. The things marked with blue marker should be smaller.
