Hi out there.
I am looking for some examles on how to make some (relatively) simple ways ti put some "cutout" pictures as "mattes" for my videos. There are lots of youtube videos about the art of matte painting, but I am looking for some examples about how to "change" a video "back in time" That is: How to "for example" Have a video from the sea that has a modern boat riding the waves, ans change this boat with an old time sailing ship. This is the basic idea. But how can it be done? With for example photoshop and rotoscoping? Is there anything on youtube about how this can be done?

Best regards

Changing a moving object in a video is not matte painting. This is composting.
You can composite an image over another with After Effects using masks.
