Generating windows media player style graphics

Hello,

is there some software that can be programmed to genrate the style of animation graphics I seen on screen savers and windows media player and other places.

I am particularly looking for a program thnat can create vortexes like a hurricane or tornado vortex that can be colored and styled

or waves of colors and lines

I see many amazing effects on screen savers but would love to be able to generate those myself with all the settings and output what I create

Is there softwaer out there that can do that

You can make those with "particle effects". Most 3d programs have some kind of particle effects. It can be quite complex, though. Search for some tutorials on particle effects to learn the basics...
