Job details: YAGER is an independent developer of computer and video games based in Berlin, Germany. We are specialized in the creation of AAA, multi-platform action experiences, for a global audience. Attention to detail is a hallmark of our development; from refining game play to the point of excellence, to instilling both the stories and the environments with enough depth and detail to set our products apart.
We are an English speaking studio with more than 100 people from 15 different countries. This rich mix of individual skills, backgrounds, and perspectives creates an open-minded and collaborative atmosphere vital to the success of our productions.
SENIOR AUDIO DESIGNER [f/m]
Yager is looking for an experienced audio designer to join our pre-production team on an exciting AAA project for PC and Consoles. This is a great opportunity to shape the direction of the project and push the creative and technical boundaries to deliver a unique user experience.
The Senior Audio Designer has the responsibility to elaborate the comprehensive audio direction of the game and turn that into specific sounds designs to create a rich, engrossing experience. He/she will also be responsible for working with our programmers to specify and document the tools and pipelines that need to be implemented in order to turn this design into reality.
Responsibilities
• Creates music composition and sound effects design
• Develops and implements sounds independently
• Establishes style and approach to sound effects and music for the project and ensures the consistency of that style throughout production
• Designs, requests, or prototypes changes to the audio pipeline and toolset
• Coordinates work flow, directs music, voice effects talent, and in recording sessions
• Uses commercially available digital audio software competently
• Works closely with designers, artists and programmers to creatively solve game development problems
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Games audio experience and a working understanding of the technical constraints of audio design for games on PC and Consoles
• Hands-on experience using proprietary and/or custom game audio (e.g. SCREAM, Xact, Wwise, FMOD, etc)
• Ability to create and mix film-quality sound effects through extensive knowledge of relevant audio packages (Nuendo, Cubase, Wavelab, etc)
• Highly creative and imaginative with a keen attitude toward problem solving and an ability to quickly learn and use a variety of audio platforms/tools
Desirable skills
• Experience with the Unreal Engine is a big plus
