Laptop specs for 3D rendering

Hi, I am going to be going to school for 3D animation and have been trying to do research for a good laptop.

My budget is around 1.2k at the highest.
So far from my research I think I want to go with:

-Intel Core i7
-8gb of memory

But I am unsure about the graphics card. And one of my biggest concerns is if it matters whether or not it is a ddr3 or a ddr5 and how that affects it. All I can really find that seems to have everything are gaming laptops, but is that really necessary for 3D rendering when I am not planning on game much.

I am pretty good with computers, but fairly new to the hardware of it, so I am feeling pretty lost. Please and Thank you!

Beauty of 3D graphics is that all parts of machine you will work on has to be as powerful as possible. Graphic cards affects viewport, so if you think about animation, then this will be pain in ass if you won't be able to do quite smooth animation previews. It will affect rendering if you'll use GPU based renderers.

Hi,

If possible go for one with the Nvidia Mobile Quadro graphics card. Pretty much desktop level viewport response in a laptop.

Regards.
