SOFA Studio is looking for Character Designer
Job details: SOFA Studio is looking for a Character Designer to join our team for the new animated feature film.
Essential Job Functions:
� Works with Director or Production Designer to create characters
� Create appealing characters that articulate the Director�s vision for the production.
� Applies expert understanding of character design and needs of the animation process to design memorable, if not iconic characters
� Develops character�s looks, personalities, movements and expressions
� Ensures that creative and technical staff have sufficient information about the characters throughout the production process
� Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets
� Solid interpersonal and communications skills
� Self-managing � organized with good time management. Must be able to identify and meet goals
� Reporting directly to the Production Designer and updating work progress on a daily basis
� Ability to produce designs quickly and efficiently
Requirements: REQUIREMENTS:
� 5+ years experience as a character designer on Animated Feature Films or Animation TV series
� Demonstrates a diversified design style and portfolio
� Excellent drawing ability & demonstrates a superior design ability
� Familiar with good combination of body shape and proportion, good at using color and handling details
� Able to develop �Star� characters for the production
� Has a unique and leading vision of how art/technology should function and the ability to inspire a wide range of audiences to adopt this vision
� Strong understanding and experience of the film production process; with an understanding of the 3D build process is a plus
� Ability to work well under stress and to be creative with limited assistance
� Great communication skills a must
� Experience with Photoshop is necessary.
� Knowledge of sculpture or 3D model production is a plus
� Able to work both collaborative and independently.
