Need advice to create a wireframe graphic of crumpled paper

Hi,
I'm working on a project and need advice. I'd appreciate suggestions on how to create a wireframe graphic of crumpled paper.
I don't need shading, just the line work that defines the ridges, crumples, crests, creases, etc.
Can this be effect be generated? Is this possible without having to draw it?
