The management credo at Understand is to hire superstars and then get out of their way. You will be responsible for leading our creative and technical efforts in creating medical animations that are gorgeous, engaging, and scientifically accurate. We are in the process of a major quality upgrade and expansion, and this position will play a crucial role in these efforts.
The candidate should possess strong creative and technical skills and have at least 5 years 3D animation experience including character rigging and animation. Specific experience creating medical animations is required.
Position would be roughly 70% managing/leading/troubleshooting and 30% animating. It would entail working closely with content writers, programmers, medical doctors, and external partners to create the most effective, visually compelling content while managing resources and time-lines.
Relocation to company headquarters in Reno, Nevada required.
Ideal candidates should possess the following:
• 5+ years animation experience including a comprehensive 3D portfolio/demo reel
• Expertise using 3ds Max, Mudbox or ZBrush, After Effects, V-ray rendering, and Hair Farm Plug-in for 3ds Max
• Experience with Poser, Flash, Premiere, and Photoshop
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and work-flow in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
