flashing lights. please help

hi all i am new to this so i will try to keep it simple......
i am trying to create a flashing light on a 3ds max model of a police car i have created and want to save the animation of the flashing light within the 3d model, so i can use it in a programming language. but the only animation data that is exported as a 3ds model is position , scale , and rotate.... any idea`s as i am stumped....

just animate the light intensity between o and 1
