Yager Development Announces Collaboration with 2K Games on New Project for Current Generation Consoles and PC

Position Summary:
Environment Artists work with level designers to build game spaces from initial concept phase to the final polished, playable stage. The environment artist’s primary duties, under the direction of the art director and lead artist, are in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting. The artist is expected to collaborate with technical artists and production to assure that spaces are, as well as beautiful, technically feasible within reasonable timeframes.

Requirements: Responsibilities:
•Modeling terrain geometry and level objects and props
•UV mapping
•Generating materials (using normal maps diffuse maps, specular maps etc)
•Collaborating with the level design to create levels which balance aesthetics with playability and technical feasibility.

Qualifications:
•3+ years of experience in game development
•A gifted eye for helping to develop and work within an appropriate artistic style, and to execute according to the overall Art Direction and project goals
•Experience with Unreal 2.5 or 3 tools and workflows
•Fluency in 3DSMax and Photoshop
•Fluent knowledge of composition and balance
•Solid placement skills specifically with modular asset building sets
•Passionate interest in action games
•Ability and desire to collaborate with designers and other artists to create finished game spaces that serve the needs of both disciplines
•Ability to learn new tools and processes, as well as to suggest improvements in order to streamline production
•Must have the ability to meet strict production deadlines
•Current on industry trends in next-generation content creation techniques.
•Strong communication and organizational skills

Desirable skills:
•Thorough understanding of shading models both real time, and non real-time a plus.
•Experience in ZBrush or Mudbox a plus
•Strong understanding of architecture
•Traditional sculpting background
•Experience working in Sub-D, Nurbs, or other high-end modeling formats
