maya: bevel destroys UVs problem

Um.. when I use Bevel on a polygon object.. the mapping/uvs/material stuff is destroyed somehow.. I can't even manually uv map the object after using bevel on it

Its normal that it destroys your uvs, have you tried deletingHistory and then map it ?

I tried that.. no difference.. it seems like triangles are screwed... like.. when I use auto mapping.. the quads aren't mapped normally.. one of the vertices (for one of the triangles) seems to be off at infinity or so
