Job details: Bardel Entertainment Inc. is currently seeking an Art Director to lead our talented and energetic art team.
The position would include:
Manage the colour team for the production
Colour styling of props, special effects, characters and backgrounds
Provide fully rendered key background samples as reference for production team.
Providing clients with an intelligent choice of colour alternatives
Create templates for production in a clear and comprehensive way including palettes indicating RGB values
Maintain show colour styling
Establish and maintain permanent files, in correct format, file and retrieve files as requested.
Train junior colour artists
Good and regular communication with Design Co-ordinator and Director
Requirements: Strong client/ relationship skills
Thorough knowledge and keen sensibility of colour
Excellent drawing and painting skills
Excellent Photoshop skills
Experience within a 3D production pipeline would be an advantage i.e some knowledge of texturing, lighting and rendering.
Knowledge of animation studio procedures and methods.
Knowledge of colour styling presentation to clients
Ability to provide leadership, but also take direction, establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives within a team environment
Ability to handle and resolve problems creatively
Ability to meet deadlines and manage pipeline
BA/BFA degree in fine arts or commercial arts an asset
5 years related experience with high quality TV series or feature films
Must work in-house and be willing to relocate to Vancouver
