Columbus State University, a comprehensive university within the
University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of
Planetarium Producer for the Omnisphere Theater at Columbus State
Universitys Coca-Cola Space Science Center (www.CCSSC.org). The CCSSC
has three basic components, the Challenger Learning Center, the
Omnisphere Theater (planetarium), and the Mead Observatory. The
Omnisphere Theater is currently undergoing major renovations. Most
notably, an Evans & Sutherland Digistar 3 LASER (8 watt) projection
system is slated to be installed in the planetarium, in June 2006. This
system is the most modern planetarium system in the world providing the
versatility of full-dome video at ultra-high resolution. The theater is
also equipped with the E&S; Interactive system and an Omniscan Laser
System. The Omnisphere also has a well equipped production studio
including two high end 3D/compositing workstations, render farm and HD
video production and editing capabilities. In addition the applicant
will be required to work with other facets of the CCSSC to accomplish
its primary educational mission. The Producer will collaborate with the
Director of the Omnisphere Theater and the Executive Director of CCSSC.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors degree or equivalent
experience in 3-D animation. Applicant must have an excellent working
knowledge of Maya or 3D Studio Max. After Effects, multi-media,
interactive design, video/audio production, planetarium, space
art/animation, and exhibit design experience are additional skills
desired but not required. The successful candidate must be able to work
odd hours. Some weekend work will be necessary.

*Salary Range*
The salary is $40,000 annually with an excellent benefits package
