Job details: Game Character Artist ArenaNet, creator of the block-buster RPG, Guild Wars, is looking for amazing artists with expertise in creating and refining character art assets to work on game. Candidates must be able to create eye-popping low-poly 3D characters, monsters, heroes and other assorted creatures. The ideal candidate will have strong traditional skills and a passion for art and games, and will be willing to take direction and offer ideas.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience creating 3D Models
Ability to create highly detailed hand-painted 2D texture maps
Solid traditional art skills
A true passion for games and the fantasy genre
Willingness and ability to work closely with Game Designers and Programmers
Ability to take direction
Experience in fine art, as demonstrated by a strong portfolio
Willingness to learn commercial and proprietary software
Game experience preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Use commercial and proprietary software to create high-quality character art assets to fulfill the requirements of the projects functional, art and technical specifications
Follow the schedules set by the Art Director
Understand the requirements and constraints of game design, engine and platform
Take direction in style and technique
Proactively seek feedback from the Art Director in style and mood
