Job details: We are seeking an Art Technical Director (Art TD), to be based at
our San Rafael, CA. headquarters. You will play a key and impact
role in development of new, non-sports titles for next generation
consoles:

Primary Responsibilities:
Solve technical production issues, define workflows, streamline
processes, and develop tools/frameworks for art.
Develop appropriate art pipelines and workflow, working in
conjunction with the Art Leads and the programming team. Set
framework for manipulating the art easily and efficiently.
Solve technical production issues.
Streamline art workflows and pipelines.
Develop tools/scripts/plugins to streamline art processes; work with
programming and tools teams.
Participate in pre-production planning to determine and address
technical design requirements and issues.
Create technically sound art and art frameworks.
Mentor and train others in areas of expertise. Train Technical Artists
in the skills necessary to execute the art path efficiently.
Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team/department
performance.
Performs special tasks as assigned.
Develop an area or multiple areas of expertise.

We require expertise in these areas:
Modeling: Development tools, streamline modeling processes,
handling complex modeling and texturing issues. Performing model
setup and controls.
Character: Focusing on character skeletons, hair, clothing, skinning,
joint weighting, and character modeling. Developing character tools
and UI for animators.
Animation: Developing workflow, tools, and UI to allow animators to
focus on animation. Handling constraint issues, cycles, and complex
animation.
Effects: Work with rigid/soft body dynamics, particles, and shaders
to simulate effects of explosions, smoke, fire, steam, fog, etc.
Version Control: designing and implementing tools to integrate
version control software into pipeline.
Technology: Maya MEL scripting, C++ and development Software
(Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush, etc.)
Personal: Superb communication skills, both verbal and written and
the ability lead and inspire others.
