Go to school for it. Its worth the time and money but only go to a public college not a private one. WAY too expensive and you dont get that much out of it

Make sure when you're modeling that you start low poly then move your way up in detail. If you're modeling, you have to have a tablet. zbrush and photoshop demand it if you want to make good textures. ...

Not a lot of studios use max right now. If you want ot get into modeling, learn yourself some Maya, zbrush or mudbox. For animation, Maya again and XSI

You can try using aftereffects with that. But the the way I would approach it is with mayas sine wave deformer in a shape of a circle.
