Texturing mainly consists of UV mapping and texture painting in Photoshop or a specialized program.

It looks like this is scanned from a magazine that's why it's all pixelated.

You can check out the-blueprints(dot)com . They don't have the blue print of a transformer, but you can use any of the blueprints there for reference and from there draw your own.
