I want to work on a very old 3d model of mine, and post my progress here.

So here is the base mesh and the first day of sculpting.
Critique is welcome.

Thank you baalnazzar, I know that there is not much to critique yet but I want to show the steps involved in doing it. Might be useful for some people.
Here is a small update.

Might be Smile Nice first piece of muscles. Looks like he won't have any eyes. Creatures without eyes always looks very alien and cause some anxiety. I like that stuff an I'll be checking your progress to see what's the end Smile

OK here are some rendering attempts with mental ray in 3ds max.
There are 3 versions, which version do you like the most and why?
Critique is welcome as well. Smile

I'm not sure if I like more second or third one I like colours of the second one but this green one has better looking bump/normals on its skin.

I really like it Smile You've chosen color of sand and given nice details on skin.
I feel that still something could be done to upgrade it but I don't know what. Some postprocess action maybe but I'm not sure what. Or I'm just complaining without sense Wink

Thank you Baalnazzar,
Well it has a lot of post processing already. Smile It is rendered in layers and composited in Photoshop.

I also feel that it can be improved, that's why I posted it in the wip section. Smile

Nicely done. You should try playing with the translucency of the veins and red parts of the creature.
