I have noticed that some family guy episodes appear to have cg in them. Meaning that the show is adding cg on top of flat cartoon images. Anyone else see this too?

CG stands for computer graphics, which I think the entire series is made with, did you meant 3d?

I have noticed it in scenes where they are driving. There was also a scene where they panned through the neighborhood. It's pretty cool, and they blend the 2d and 3d together very well.
