I was wondering what the image quality loss would be in converting a 720x486 24 frames/sec at .91 pixel ratio to a PAL widescreen image for display on 16:9 aspect ratio. The other catch is the 720x486 image resolution has the black wide-screen bars hardmasked into the image. So the resulting image is 720x402. The final animation will be for DVD release.

Is the image degradation not too terrible, or is it worth it to re-render the animation at the PAL widescreen resolution and aspect ratio? The 3D animation is 80 minutes.

As much information on the subject is appreciated. Thanks.
