I am quite a noob in terms of modelling, as a matter of fact I am no artist, my expertise in software engineering and I happen to work with 3D graphics a lot.
My problem is as follows: I have a character that was animated in Maya, using blended shapes for facial expressions. Now, I need to deform this characters face so that it matches as much as possible the geometry of a 3D scan of an actual head. (It doesn't need to be perfect) Is there an easy way to do this without manually modifying the verticies of the original model? |

I don't know about Maya, but in Softimage there are tools that allow to project a 3d object to another 3d object.
Even 3ds max have such tools. I suppose Maya should have something similar. _________________ Andyba, 3d artist skills: 3d modeling, texturing, rendering, 3d character animation, compositing 3d software experience: 3ds max, Maya, Softimage XSI, Deep Paint 3d, Body Paint 3D, Wings 3D, Z Brush 2d software experience: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After effects, Macromedia Flash, Freehand |
