I am working with an AutoCAD 3d model in 3ds MAX. When I assign a material to a selected object (wall) it assigns it to all of the walls in the project. The walls are all listed separately as individual objects. I tried starting over and re-importing the autoCAD drawing to no avail. I can't see any indication that there is a grouping or link set up. Please help!! |

if you are trying to import the CAD file, you must not link it with the CAD. Import it as a mesh. after importing, you need to ungroup or detach the mesh and then apply material on it. if you are newbie, then google for tutorials, "how to apply multi-subobject material on single mesh". Good Luck. |
