Strata has added more options, enhancements and power to the three applications that make up its 3D modelling and animation package Strata 3D Suite.

The company has added 50 new enhancements and fixes to ist 3D application Strata 3D CX. The upgrade is available free to current Strata 3D CX 5.0 users. A public beta of the Macintosh Universal Binary version of Strata 3D CX, which runs natively on Intel Core 2 Duo based machines is available.

A Mac version of Foto 3D – Strata's tool for creating 3D objects from simple digital photographs – has been announced. Foto 3D for the Mac is currently in beta testing and will be in public beta soon, says Strata. Foto 3D for Mac OS X is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2007. Pricing for the Mac version will be the same as the current Windows application - $495. Current Windows users can purchase a cross-platform upgrade for $99.

Strata Live 3D 1.1, a free upgrade for current Live 3D users, sees a series of enhancements added that improve design workflow. Strata has also announced the spin-off of Strata Live 3D: PDF - an easy to use application for adding 3D content to a PDF document. It can be used as a companion to Strata Live 3D or as a standalone application. Strata Live 3D: PDF will be priced at $139 and is expected to ship in early 2007. Existing users of Strata Live 3D will get this PDF tool as a free addition to their existing license.

Strata is offering the complete cross platform 3D Suite at special pricing through the end of this year. Customers who own or upgrade to Strata 3D CX 5.0 can complete the full 3D Suite for only $495 - a savings of close to $500 over the standard pricing. This special offer provides both Mac and Windows licences for Live 3D, Live 3D: PDF and Foto 3D. All beta versions will be made available to registered users. A discount code will be sent to current CX owners allowing them to access this special pricing.
