I've only heard XSI announce it
But I don't believe it's implemented yet
If it has, there has been no testing of it yet

Only XSI 5 Advanced
No other apps so far
Ppu technology is in stage of infancy

Right now it needs the game more so
Game market*
So they need a few killer titles
Or it won't go past infacy
Especially if ATI or nVidia can counter it

I doubt it will die off
This isn't some premature gimmick like Virtual Reality in 95
It will either live on in some form or another
Either as part of Nvidia/ATI Gpu's.. or as a function in SLI-solutions
Or Ageia will conquer that market

I'm not talking about physics acceleration in general
I'm speaking of Ageia
And their sucess
They need to justify now a reason to own a $200 physics card

Gobbled up by Nvidia
Nvidia was one of the "babies" born out of the GPU generation
You are talking not just about Ageia specifically, but the concept and idea of a tertiary PPU
Whether it be in the form of Ageia... or Ageia bought up by Nvidia
Or ATI
did you see that documentary?

For the PPU though I'd prefer ATI or nVidia

To be exact 1 hour 13 minutes
They wouldn't have the same know-how that Meqon/Ageia has though..
The problem is that the PPU requires cooling
Both chips under one fan?
I would hope one of them just bought Ageia and assimilated it into a GPU :p
If they'd try it alone, without their experience, I know they'd just do it halfassed

Or they could try to amass industrial experience from scratch (or do industrial espionage on ageia)

Nothing beats Meqon
Those are just halfassed crossfire/sli solutions
Am I right?
Or is it a GPU doing both graphics and physics?
Because I've read that is gonna be more possible with Dx10

Ati and nvidia will have the ability to run both physics and graphics on 1 gpu , or dedicate 1 gpu for physics specificly if in SLI

Hey, I think I'll try to be help and actually answer the question you asked. So you are going to need a physics engine, and assuming your an artist, it will have to be an engine that already exists inside an application. The only applications that I know of that will do what you want are game engines. Many engines have free/non-comercial versions, so I'm sure you could find one.

***NOTE***
Simulating aerodynamics is not standard in most physics engines, so before you down-load see if it supports what you need.

Other than coding a program yourself, I really can't see any other solution, but I hope you find it. And everyone else can continue a conversation that makes no sense to you
