So I finished my first model.. now its at its lowest poly level
How do I proceed with rigging?
I was going to uvmap this
or should I now go ahead and rig this?

Is it subd now, or poly

Yeah you could easily map a copy of it, and bind it to the same skeleton, and copy the weights from one skin to the one with the map applied

Yeah the lowpoly
You can copy the skinweights onto the highpoly if you need

Well thats the next steps I guess after I rig this
Then I wanna put the highpoly on another layer
And have this lowpoly drive that

It would smmoth it out, and you can reweight them in areas you need, but you get away with less headache (faster response) that way
I personnaly would rather copy the weights and reweight them because wrapdeformers are slow
Mostly when you apply them
And that means when you load it it will calculate for a minute (depending on the density)
And you might get misdeformations
