Job details: We are seeking a dedicated full-time faculty member to help build the Feature Animation program at Laguna College of Art & Design.

Our program is growing in size, reputation, and most importantly quality. With a stellar faculty (Lou Police, Sue Kroyer, Karen Keller, Jim Schlenker, and Wes Sullivan to name a few) and dedicated students, we turn out strong animators, storyboard artists, layout artists, pre-vis, modeling and designers who are being hired by top studios such as Pixar and Blue Sky.
The faculty member will work with the Chair of the Animation department as we continue to develop the growing Feature Animation program. The curriculum consists of two tracks Film and Portfolio, and we are looking for someone to lead the Portfolio track; this includes developing students who wish to work in storyboard, layout, design, and visual development.

The position will include teaching from among of the following classes, a total of 18 units per year:
Figure Painting for Animators; Figure Drawing for Animators; Visual Development; Senior Portfolio; Compositoin and Color
The position also includes administrative roles such as reviewing incoming student portfolios, advising students, attending program meetings and general duties to smooth program operations.
Starting Assistant Professor salary is in the low $40,000s and up depending on experience.
Requirements: 5+ years experience in animation industry
Traditional figure drawing/painting, (visual development experience prefferred)
2+ years Teaching experience
Outgoing and personable - ability to work with students, parents, colleagues and chair of department
Passion for artform and education
