Join our Background Team!
Using Flagship Studios proprietary tools, the Layout Artist assembles a wide variety of background layouts from sets of building blocks designed by the 3D Background Artists. The background layouts are templates used by our custom 3D random level-generation system, providing unparalleled re-playability to the levels and locations in Hellgate: London.
The Layout Artist places props into background layouts to add additional visual variety to the background environments.
The Layout Artist also designs and builds Quest Layouts, outfitting them with monsters, triggers, rewards, etc. to support the adventures that take place within them.
The Layout Artist is responsible for background props and variations of the standard background building blocks by making them with 3DS MAX or by working with contractors.
The Layout Artist is expected to provide feedback to the rest of the Hellgate: London team to improve and optimize the Hellgate: London layout tools and background production process.
Requirements:
Experience in game production.
Proficiency with 3DS MAX or equivalent.
Experience in level design for games.
Experience using level design/layout tools.
Diligence and attention to detail.
Good data organization skills. (using Excel, for example)
Good communication skills.
Desire to work on a team building top-quality game environments.
