Hi I'm using maya but it might be a universal problem I don't know..

Trying to understand dispplacement maps.
Using two checker textures here,
one as dispmap which should protrude the white squares and reverse the black
but I get something to be put in galerie abominate

Looks like it needs more polys to make a good displace
Real displace adds more where needed, but maybe maya don't have that

To Attach an Image to your post write the message then press the Go Advanced button. In the bottom of the advanced reply screen you will see an option to upload an image from your computer.
