scenario: I have a walking guy, animated. now I have an object - editable mesh, that I want him to have in one of his hands
how do I do this?
I don't want to make the object part of the same mesh as the walking dude

put a linked xform modifier on it, link a helper object, and then position constrain your object to the helper when you need it

make a rigid body collection selecting both, object and the hand? i presume..then set the hand not to act on bouce on cup but cup act on bouce from hand motion..so if the cup was hanging from 1 finger..and you straighteed the finger..the cup would glide over it and fall down..spinning..
