Job details: Texture Artist Texture Artist

You will be responsible creating and manipulating shaders, UVing geometry, and texturing for Factor 5s next-generation art assets.

Responsibilities:

Digitally paint diffuse, bump, specular, displacement maps and other special effect maps for environments and characters
Create additional effect maps for a texture library
Set up and manipulate shaders in Maya and proprietary tools for in-game use
Create both single and multiple UV sets (where needed) for geometry art assets
Prepare geometry for UVing
Preview work in the game engine
Work under direction from the Art Director and Production staff


Qualifications:

Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent industry experience (four years) is preferred
Maya and Photoshop experience required
Understanding of effect maps for real-time 3D geometry required
Attention to detail and effective communication skills are required
Experience with Deep Paint/Bodypaint 3D, and Deep UV is a plus
Modeling skills are a plus
ZBrush or other normal mapping tool experience is a plus
Concepting experience is a plus


Portfolio Requirements:

Demonstrate a strong traditional art background
Demonstrate strong texturing skills -- both with use of photo-material and through digital painting -- applied to characters, props, and environments.

Include a credit list which documents what you have worked on yourself, and what contributions others made to the pieces in your portfolio.
