Job details: Audio Designer Responsibilities

o Create, edit, and mix original audio content in accordance with the projects design goals, style, and vision.

o Complete project requirements at a high level of quality and productivity.

o Keep track of asset lists and external contract work relevant to assigned tasks.

o Keep leads and managers advised of progress on scheduled tasks, potential improvements to pipelines, and problems or inefficiencies encountered.

o Keep up with competitive products and upcoming releases.

o May be tasked with other duties and responsibilities in support of the project audio team.

Qualifications

o High level of proficiency with professional audio software and hardware. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to proprietary editors and project pipelines.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

o Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, collaborate productively with others, and work hard to meet deadlines as necessary.

o Positive attitude. Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Proactive, team-focused, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.

o Excellent organizational skills. Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and follow through on details. Must be flexible enough to deal with changing role requirements.

o Passion for games and ability to articulate that passion clearly and analytically from an audio perspective. A broad knowledge base of console and PC games.

o College degree or equivalent experience.

Pluses

o 2+ years of professional game industry experience in a design role (preferably on AAA console products).

o 1+ complete game production cycles in a design role (preferably on AAA console products).

o Strong music composition skills.

o Experience with building original sound effects libraries.

Sample Work Required

o Applicants should submit samples of their audio work. Include a written description of each sample, identifying in detail your contribution. Please send a CD or submit online. Actual gameplay footage preferred.

o Any supplemental materials demonstrating skills relevant to this position are also encouraged.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Relocation to Champaign, IL, is required.
