Making a short animation with no experience in 3D

Hi everyone. I am creating a small series (this is a hobby with friends, not for college or school or anything) and we want to do different episodes in different mediums (live action, comic, audio story, 2D animation, short story, etc.). It will be about 5-10 minutes long.

I have knowledge and experience in 2D and stop-motion animation, and I have bought some 3D modelling software, but apart from that I have no idea on how to use it. Can someone give me a few pointers on how to get started with it?
