VCI Company is looking for 3D Visual Database Modeler in the D/FW – Arlington Area



Job details: The 3-D Modeler will serve as a member of our Modeling and Simulation team for the development of virtual 2D and 3D terrain, structures, and environments for both commercial and government clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build 3D visual databases and simulations for air traffic controller training and other aviation operations and facilities
• Create a variety of high resolution characters, geo-specific, geo-typical, and dynamic 3D models of equipment, facilities, buildings, landscapes, ground vehicles, aircraft and ships to be used in virtual databases
• Create and apply accurate, photorealistic textures, color, lighting, and shading to visual objects and models
• Coordinate with the modeling team and other departments
• Assist in developing modeling standards and best practices
• Participate in quality assurance to identify and assist in addressing issues
• On occasion, conduct field data collection activities

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in 3D Modeling/Animation or a related field (BS in Geospatial Information Systems, Geography, or Computer Science a plus). May consider technical certification in a related discipline combined with experience in lieu of a degree
• 2+ years hands-on experience in modeling, simulation, or gaming applications which includes modeling, texture application, and building animations
• Ability to read and understand AutoCAD, civil plans, and architectural / engineering drawings
• Required computer and application skills
o Experience using Presagis Creator (knowledge of Vega Prime, Terra Vista or similar modeling software is a plus)
o Open Flight Database
o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel)
o Knowledge and work experience with Adobe Photoshop
• Knowledge of skeletal animation is a plus
• Knowledge of GIS databases and download website
• Good written and verbal communications skills
