for people who are confused what to get:

I have 3ds max, mudbox, maya, zbrush, blender, anim8or.
I personally like Maya, 3ds max and zbrush the most. if you really want to do something in the 3d world then get maya 3ds max and zbrush.

I like Hexagon. Its a great software.

Forgive the silly question:

Can you use images from the 3D modeling software in the animation suites? I know you can create images with say, Blender, I'm aware of that.

What I'm wondering is if you have say 3 guys on a team, and one of them uses say, Hexagon for his images, could the other 2 utilize those images for animation in Blender?

hello need some help ! used 3d studio max a long time ago for a web n multimedia degree, never need 3d modelling until now !

need something that can possiblely work embedded with website , if not no problem !

need to make a model of a car body shell !

got a picece of kit that can measure paint depth on areas of a car body , it records this data onto a spread sheet using coords on the area of the surface

The spreadsheet data i want to display this onto the 3d body model !

fianlly if could get this working embedded into a website so i could in theory have different body shell types on a selection filter ect.

whats the best open source software to use for this ?

don't forget k-3D and WhiteDune (which is primarily a VRML modeller) on linux

Sculptris! a AUTO TESSELLATING SOFTWARE! works great in conjunction with Maya, and zbrush, even found u can make lots of great things for free utilizing sulptris and blender, just like i would maya and zbrush
