Job details: MMO - Game Designer Description:
As the MMO Game Designer, you will be responsible for designing gameplay systems, gameplay content, and technical features for a next-gen massively multiplayer online title. Collaborating closely with producers, other designers, and department leads, you will develop and maintain a design database for the project, including documentation, game data, and reference materials. In addition to being the champion of the design database, you will also be intimately involved with designing game systems, creating world history, and working with other departments to establish game features and craft a unified, next generation game world!
Responsibilities:
Designing macro-level and micro-level game systems for an MMO.
Designing in-game and front-end interfaces for an MMO.
Establishing and maintaining an MMO design database.
Designing MMO content development tools for designers.
Creating history and narratives for a new MMO universe.
Establishing game features and technical requirements.
Prototyping new game content and producing final game content.
Qualifications:
Must have at least 2+ years of total design experience and at least 1+ year of MMO or RPG design experience.
Must have design experience with at least 2+ different game engines / editors.
Must be an avid gamer with the desire to create top-notch games.
Must be well-versed with numerous MMO and RPG game designs.
Must be knowledgeable in a variety of fantasy, science fiction, horror, and historical arenas.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.).
Must be capable of providing examples of previous design work upon request.
Preferences:
Design experience with at least 2+ different game engines / editors.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree, or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training. Post-graduate work a plus.
